CRAFTS
Snake Chain
What you'll need:
- Construction Paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- A good imagination!
How to make it:
- Tear out an estimated 12 pieces of construction paper and
cut them into 3 cm strips.
- When that is complete, start to put the construction strips into rings and glue them. As you glue, link one ring into another to form a chain.
- When all the gluing is complete get another piece of
construction paper, draw a snake head, and cut it out.
- When that is complete glue the head on and Voila!
Pumpkin Window Hangers
What you'll need:
- Orange craft foam
- Green craft foam
- Brown chenille stick
- Brown or black marker
- Suction cup hanger
- Orange glitter glue
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- White craft glue
- Pattern
How to make it:
- Trace the pattern onto orange craft foam and cut out.
- Cut out leaves from the green craft foam and use white glue to adhere the leaves to the top of the pumpkins.
- Use a marker to draw lines onto your pumpkins.
- Let the glue dry.
- Cut a four inch piece off the chenille stick and save the remainder for another project. Fold the four inch piece in half, creating a loop at one end.
- Hot glue the open end of the chenille stick to the back of the pumpkin for the stem, leaving about one inch showing with the loop at the top.
- Paint pumpkins with orange glitter glue and let them dry.
- Attach suction cup to a window and hang pumpkin by the stem.
Elephant Pencil Holder
What you'll need:
- Can about 4" tall, wash and remove label
- Tacky glue
- Scissors
- Tape
- Crayons or markers
- Gray construction paper
- Wiggle eyes or white construction paper
How to make it:
- Cut a piece of paper large enough to cover the outside of the can. Tape it to the can.
- Fold a (6" x 4" ) piece of gray paper in half. Cut out an ear shape. (When you unfold it, you'll have two ears that are the same size and shape.) Make a fold about 1/4 " wide down the "inside" part of the ears. Make a cut halfway down the fold and bend one part of the inside part forward and one part backwards. When you glue them to the can, it will make the ears "stand up."
- Cut out the trunk. Use a pencil to "curl the trunk" so that it will stand out from the can instead of laying flat. (You take a pencil and the end part of the trunk and roll the paper gently around the pencil about halfway up the trunk.) Draw nostrils on the part that will be turned up, and wrinkles along the trunk. Make a 1/4" fold at the top and glue the trunk to the can.
- Glue on two wiggle eyes or use the white paper and a black pen to make your own eyes and glue them on the can on either side of the trunk.
- Draw the elephant a mouth below the trunk. Add any other details you would like your elephant to have (wrinkles, tusks, etc.)
