02/27/10 - The Saskatoon Blades are the perfect model for how great of a job the province of Saskatchewan is doing in developing minor hockey players.  Thirteen players that played in the Saskatoon Midget AAA Hockey League have pulled on the Blades jersey this season.  Included in that number is the players from this Shutter Stopper - forwards Jeremy Boyer (Saskatoon Blazers) and Charles Inglis (Saskatoon Contacts).

02/06/10 - Defensive partners Stefan Elliott and Sam Klassen stand and discuss matters prior to a faceoff in the Blades game against the Brandon Wheat Kings.  Elliott and Klassen have both consistently been in the WHL top 10 for the plus/minus category all season thanks to steady defensive play and excellent puck movement.

01/29/10 - A member of the Saskatoon Lightning Flyers Atom team speaks with Blades captain Derek Hulak during the warm-ups prior to a Blades game in late January.  The Lightning Flyers were on the Blades bench as part of the "Best Seat in the House Package".  The team took in the full warm-ups on the bench before getting a private tour of the Blades dressing room.  If you are a minor hockey team that would be interested in this package or are a company that would be interested in sponsoring a team for this package call the Blades office at 975-8844.

01/22/10 - For the second time in just over a week, the Saskatoon Blades have lost a veteran player for the remainder of the season.  Curtis Hamilton, an 18-year-old in his third season with the team, will miss the rest of the season after breaking his collarbone for the second time this year in a game on January 22nd against the Kootenay Ice.  The Blades wish Curtis a safe and healthy recovery.

01/13/10 - Teigan Zahn, a 19-year-old this season with the Blades, was lost for the remainder of the regular season after breaking his ankle against the Calgary Hitmen on January 13th.  Zahn is expected to make a full recovery.  The Blades wish Teigan all the best in his recovery from the injury.

12/16/09 - Randy McNaught scored the GlobalTV Toque Toss Goal for the 2009-10 season at 5:17 of the first period of the Blades' game versus the Kelowna Rockets.  Thousands of toques, scarves, and mitts hit the ice and will distributed to various groups around Saskatoon by MD Ambulance.  The Blades beat the Rockets on this evening by a 4-1 score.

12/09/09- Blades goaltender Steven Stanford pins a Brandon Wheat King to the ice next to his crease.  Acquired by the Blades in October, Stanford has been one half of a formidable goaltender duo for the Blades with veteran Adam Morrison.  On this evening, the Blades picked up a single point in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Wheat Kings.

11/14/09- Blades forwards Darian Dziurzynski and Randy McNaught stake a claim to the front of the Prince George Cougars' net.  Both players have appeared at the top of the Western Hockey League penalty minutes list all season.  On this night, the Blades beat the Cougars 3-2.

11/07/09- Members of the 702 Lynx Air Cadet Squadron pose with the Blades following "Remembrance Night" at Credit Union Centre.  The Blades used the evening to honour past and present members of the armed forces and emergency services personnel.  The special jerseys worn by the Blades were auctioned off with proceeds going to the tri-branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.

10/07/09- Center Brent Benson is in his rookie season with the Saskatoon Blades.  The native of Weyburn, Saskatchewan was drafted by the Blades in the 1st round, 6th overall in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft.

09/25/09- For the second straight season the Saskatoon Blades have named Derek Hulak as team captain.  Hulak, a product of the Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association, was the Blades' leading scorer in 2008-09 with 30 goals and 46 assists for 76 points in 72 games played.

09/18/09- Blades captain Derek Hulak (2nd from left) and assistant captains Travis Toomey, Curtis Hamilton, and Teigan Zahn bring the 2008-09 East Division Champions banner to centre ice to present it to Blades Owner and Governor Jack Brodsky prior to puck at the Blades home opener.  The Blades beat the Regina Pats by a score of 5-1.
