Blades Release Tentative Schedule for 2010-11 Season

Following a lengthy meeting Monday at Credit Union Centre, the Western Hockey League’s 12 Eastern Conference teams have hammered out their 2010-2011 slate of games.

In turn, the Saskatoon Blades Hockey Club is announcing their schedule of 6 pre-season and 72 regular-season games…which is tentative and subject to change.

The highlights of this year’s schedule are…

- Opening night for the Blades will be at home on Friday, September 24 against the arch-rival Prince Albert Raiders. Game time is 7:05 p.m. at Credit Union Centre.

- The Blades’ first road game will be the following night, Saturday, September 25, in P.A.

- The Blades will play 21 of their 36 home games on the preferred weekend days of Friday and Saturday. The home game breakdown, by day of the week, is Saturday (11), Friday (10), Tuesday (6), Wednesday (6), Sunday (2), Thursday (1).

- The Blades will play 20 of their 36 home games after Christmas.

- The Blades’ longest homestand will be five games from February 1-11.

- The annual Western Conference road trip for the Blades will be the longest swing of the season…November 30-December 7…visiting all 5 B.C. Division clubs.

- The 5 U.S. Division teams will visit Saskatoon this season…starting with the Western Conference champion Tri-City Americans on Wednesday, October 6.

- The Blades will host the defending W.H.L champion Calgary Hitmen on Tuesday, January 4 and Saturday, January 22.

Again, the Saskatoon Blades caution that this schedule is tentative and subject to change until the W.H.L. makes the entire schedule official sometime in early August. At that time, game start times will be added. The tentative full schedule is listed below
